How do I cancel British Airways flights at Alternative Airlines?

If you have booked British Airways flights at Alternative Airlines but want to cancel, you can make a cancellation request through the Manage My Booking portal or reach out to our Customer Service team who will be able to assist you.


1. Self-service flight cancellation via 'Manage my booking'

  • You can sign in to Manage My Booking with your booking reference number.
  • Once you're signed in, it's super easy to cancel your British Airways flights. We'll show you the total refund that you're entitled to based on the fare rules of the airline before you decide to cancel.
  • If Cancellation Protection was added during the booking process, you can claim a full refund should you need to cancel your British Airways flights due to emergency reasons.


Please be aware that many flight tickets are non-refundable as per the airline's terms and conditions.

Can you cancel a British Airways flight within 24 hours?

Yes - you'll be entitled to a full refund if you cancel your British Airways flight within the first 24 hours from when you first made your booking.

With British Airways flights booked through us at Alternative Airlines, you can still cancel within the airline's 24-hour cancellation window and get a refund, but you must contact us during our operating hours.

  • Please contact us between 9am - 8pm UK time (GMT) if you want to cancel your British Airways flights within the 24-hour cancellation window and receive your refund.
  • We may not receive your refund request in time if you contact us outside of our operating hours. In this case, we won't be able to honour British Airways' 24-hour cancellation policy as British Airways may not issue your refund to us.

What is British Airways' cancellation policy?

British Airways' 24-hour cancellation policy lets you get a full refund as long as you cancel your flight within the 24-hour cancellation window. This starts from when you first made your booking. You won't be able to get a complete refund after the 24-hour period has elapsed.

  • For bookings made through Alternative Airlines, we advise that you cancel your British Airways flight ticket through us during our opening hours (9am - 8pm GMT) so that we can offer a full refund if you do so within British Airways' 24-hour cancellation policy window. 
  • If you contact us after business hours, we may not get your refund request and the 24-hour window might have passed, in which case we won't be able to honour the 24-hour refund policy.
